Terms of service

Last updated:

Kantamigo has not launched yet. Today this website offers information, the free tools and the launch notify list. Sections marked “From launch” describe the app and apply once it launches.

These terms are the agreement between you and the operator of Kantamigo. In short: Kantamigo is a private songbook for your own guitar nights, it provides no songs, and live sessions are only for private gatherings of people who know each other.

Who runs Kantamigo

Kantamigo is run by [operator name], an individual based in Switzerland (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at hello@kantamigo.com. Our full contact details are on the about page.

These terms apply to the website, the free tools and the app. By creating an account, joining a session or buying a plan, you agree to them.

What Kantamigo is

Kantamigo is a personal songbook tool. It does not provide songs, lyrics or chords, and it has no song catalogue. You add your own songs, and you alone are responsible for the content you add.

Your songbook is private. Nobody else can browse or search it, and a song is never copied from one songbook to another.

Your songs

From launch

You may add only content you created, content in the public domain, or content you are entitled to use privately under the law that applies to you.

You will not use Kantamigo to publish, distribute or otherwise make content available to the public.

Live sessions are private

From launch

Live sessions are for private gatherings of people who personally know each other, such as friends and family, with up to 30 listeners. You may not use sessions at public events, venues, bars, restaurants, concerts, open mics, festivals, places of worship, workplaces or schools, or for any commercial purpose, unless you have obtained all necessary licences yourself.

The limit of 30 listeners is the same on every plan and is part of this restriction. Before your first session you confirm once that your sessions are private gatherings.

Listeners see the lyrics and chords of a song only while it is being played, and nothing is kept on their devices.

No sharing or publishing

From launch

You may not publish or share songs from your songbook outside a live session. You may not try to get around this restriction, for example by scraping, recording or republishing what listeners see.

Import from a link

From launch

The import tool acts only on your instruction and on your behalf. It retrieves one page that you are entitled to access, once, and does not keep it. You are responsible for complying with the terms of the website you import from.

Do not use it to bypass paywalls, logins or other access restrictions. We may block domains; songs from a blocked site can still be added by pasting the text yourself. How the fetcher behaves is described on the import bot page.

What you allow us to do with your content

From launch

You keep all rights in your content. You give us a licence to host, store, process and display it only to you and, during sessions you start, to the participants of those sessions, solely to run the service.

We make no other use of your content. We never display it publicly and never use it to train AI models.

Copyright notices

From launch

If you believe content in Kantamigo infringes your rights, send a notice through our copyright page or to legal@kantamigo.com.

When we receive a valid notice, we disable the content, tell the user why, and keep the same content from returning to that user’s songbook. The user can send a counter-notice if they believe the notice was a mistake.

An account that receives three valid notices is terminated.

Acceptable use

When you use Kantamigo, you will not:

  • post unlawful, infringing, hateful or harassing content in song notes, session names, nicknames or suggestions;
  • abuse, harass or embarrass guests or other users;
  • access the service with bots or scripts, scrape it, overload it or interfere with how it works;
  • create accounts to get around limits, removals or a termination.

Guests

From launch

Guests join a session by QR code or link, without an account, and choose a nickname. No real name is needed. Guests must be at least 13 years old, or older where local law requires it.

Hosts decide whom they invite and are responsible for it. A host can remove a guest or lock the session.

Accounts

From launch

You must be at least 16 to create an account. Where the law allows it and we offer it, a person aged 13 to 15 may have an account with the consent of a parent or guardian.

Use an email address you can access and keep your sign-in details safe. You are responsible for what happens on your account.

Plans and billing

From launch
  • Kantamigo has a Free plan, the Party Pass for 48 hours and the Guitarist plan, billed monthly or yearly. What each plan includes and costs is shown at checkout.
  • Payments are handled by Polar, which sells to you as merchant of record. Polar processes the payment, issues the invoice and handles taxes, and its own terms apply to the purchase.
  • The Guitarist plan renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel in two clicks on the billing page; the plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
  • We email you 14 days before a yearly plan renews.
  • If we change a price, we tell you before it applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first.

Refunds and withdrawal

From launch

Guitarist. You get a full refund on request within 14 days of your first payment and within 14 days of each yearly renewal. Monthly renewals are not refunded, but you can cancel at any time and keep the plan until the end of the month you paid for. After a refund your account returns to the Free plan, and 30 songs stay active.

Party Pass. At checkout you ask for the pass to start at once by ticking “Start my pass now. I understand I lose my 14-day withdrawal right once it starts.” Once the pass has started, you can no longer withdraw from it. If no session went live during the 48 hours of the pass, we refund it automatically.

To withdraw or ask for a refund, use the billing page or write to hello@kantamigo.com. These rules come on top of any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.

Referrals and promo codes

From launch
  • You invite friends by sharing your personal link through your own channels. Kantamigo never sends invitations on your behalf.
  • When someone signs up through your link and hosts a session with at least 3 guests, you both get 1 month of Guitarist. If you already have a plan, the month is added to it.
  • A reward is granted after a 14-day hold. You can earn at most 12 reward months a year, and each invited account counts once.
  • Self-referrals, fake accounts, fake guests and other abuse do not count. We may withhold or remove rewards obtained that way.
  • A promo code is valid for the plans, period and number of uses stated with it, one code per account.
  • We may change or end the referral programme or a promo code at any time. Rewards already granted are kept.

AI features

From launch

Import from a link and the clean-up of pasted text use an AI model. The result can be inaccurate or incomplete, so check every imported song before you use it.

The AI only reshapes the text you gave it; it never writes lyrics from memory. Your content is never used to train AI models, ours or our provider’s.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Kantamigo running, but we cannot promise that it is always available or free of errors. The Free plan comes without any service level.

We may change features. If a change materially affects a paid plan, or if we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we tell you in advance by email or in the app.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for intent or gross negligence (Article 100 of the Swiss Code of Obligations) or any liability that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights remain unaffected.

Ending your account

From launch

You can delete your account at any time in settings. Before you do, you can export your songbook as ChordPro files and JSON. Deleting the account deletes your songbook too; the privacy policy explains what is kept and for how long.

We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Where we can, we tell you why first.

Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by Swiss law, and the courts at our domicile in Switzerland have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live still apply, and you may also bring a claim before the courts there.
