How to get to drop D from standard
- 6th stringE2 → D22 semitones down (2 frets)
The other 5 strings stay as they are.
Go a little below the new note, then tune up to it. A string tuned up to pitch stays there longer.
About drop D
Drop D lowers only the 6th string, by 2 semitones. Power chords on the three lowest strings then take one finger, and music in D gets a deep open bass note. Going back to standard is one string away.
