How to tune your ukulele
- Tap Start tuning and allow the microphone.
- Play one open string and let it ring. Auto names the nearest string; if it picks another one, tap the string you're tuning.
- Turn its peg until the marker sits in the middle and you see In tune.
- Do the same for every string, then check them all once more: tuning one string pulls a little on the others.
About ukulele tuning
Standard ukulele tuning is G C E A with a re-entrant G: the 4th string, nearest your chin, is tuned higher than the 3rd. That gives the ukulele its bright, close sound. The four strings match the top four strings of a guitar with a capo at the 5th fret, with the G an octave higher.
